Amana Al-Rasulu
اٰمَنَ الرَّسُولُ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ كُلٌّ اٰمَنَ بِاللهِ وَمَلآئِكَتِهِ
وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ لاَ نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِنْ رُسُلِهِ وَقَالُوا سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا غُفْرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ* لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَا اكْتَسَبَتْ رَبَّنَا لاَ تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِنْ نَسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا رَبَّنَا وَلاَ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا رَبَّنَا وَلاَ تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا أَنْتَ مَوْلاَنَا فَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ Aaman-al-rasooulu bimaa unzila ilayhi minrabbihi wal-mu’minoona kullun-aamana biLlaahi wa malaa’ikatihi wa kutubihi wa rusoolihi laa nufarriqu bayna aḥadin min rusoolihi wa qaaloo sami`naa wa aṭa`naa ghufraanaka rabbanaa wa ilayka l-maṣeeru Laa yukallifu Llaahu nafsan illaa wus`ahaa lahaa maa kasabat wa `alayhaa maa-ktasabat Rabbanaa laa too a’khidhnaa in-naseenaa aw akhṭa’naa, Rabbanaa walaataḥmil `alaynaa iṣran kamaaḥamaltahu `alaalladheena min qablinaa Rabbanaa wa laa tuḥammilnaa maa laa ṭaaqata lanaa bihi, wa’a`oofu`annaa waghfir-lanaa warḥamnaa anta mawlaanaa faanṣurnaa`alaa-al-qawmil-kaafireena.[1] The Rasul (Muhammad saw) has believed in what was revealed (knowledge that emerged from the dimensional depths) to him (to his consciousness) from his Rabb (the qualities of the Names of Allah comprising his essential reality). And so have the believers! They have all believed (in line with the meaning denoted by the letter B) that the Names of Allah comprise their essence, and in the angels (the forces of the Names constituting their being), the Books (all revealed knowledge) and the Rasuls... They say, ‘We make no distinction between (the ways in which the knowledge of Allah was revealed to) His Rasuls... We have perceived and obeyed, we ask for Your forgiveness, our Rabb; our return is to You.’ Allah will never hold anyone responsible for that which they have no capacity. What he earns (as a result of his good deeds) is for his self, and the consequences of (his bad deeds) is also for his self. Our Rabb, do not punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Rabb, do not place upon us heavy duties like the ones you placed on those before us. Our Rabb, do not place on us a burden we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, have grace on us. You are our protector. Give us victory over those who cover the reality (disbelievers) and deny You. Hadhrat Ali (ra) and Hadhrat Omar (ra) have narrated: “It is not possible for a smart person to sleep without reciting these verses.”[2] It is recorded both in Muslim and Tirmidhi that the Rasul of Allah (saw) has said, “Allah has ended the chapter al-Baqarah with two verses to which He granted from His treasures under the Throne (Arsh). Learn these verses, and teach them to your children and women. It is the Quran, it may be recited in salat, and it is also a prayer.” There are also some hadith denoting the importance of adding ‘Amen’ at the end of their recital. Another hadith narrates: “Whoever recites the last two verses of the chapter al-Baqarah, he will be protected from the calamities of the night and the evil of the devils (negative energies)!”[3] Reciting the following verses at least once a day will provide profound benefits. شَهِدَ اللهُ أَنَّهُ لٓا إِلٰـهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَالْمَلٓائِكَةُ وَأُولُوا الْعِلْمِ قَآئِمَاً بِالْقِسْطِ لٓا إِلٰـهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ ShahidaLlaahu annahu laa-ilaaha illaa-huwal-malaa’ikatahu wa’awlool-`ilmi qaa’iman-bil-qisṭi laa-ilaaha-illaa huwal-`azeezul-ḥakeemu.[4] Allah knows with certainty that none exists other than He. He is HU, there is no other, only HU... And (so do) the forces (potentials) of His names (angels; compositions of qualities that manifest through the knowledge of reality) and those of knowledge (those who possess this knowledge also know, and thus testify to this reality) and maintain themselves in accord with this truth... There is no god, only HU, the Aziz, the Hakim. قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتَنزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشَاءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ بِيَدِكَ الْخَيْرُ إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ تُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي الْنَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ وَتَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ Quli Allaahumma maalikil-mulki tu’tee-l-mulka mantashaa’ wa tanzi`ul-mulka mimman tashaa’ wa-tu`izzu man tashaa’ wa tudhillu man tashaa’ biyadikal-khayru innaka `alaa kulli shay’in qadeer. Tooliju l-layla feel-nahaari wa toolijul-nahaara fee-layli wa tukhrijul-ḥayya minal-mayyiti wa tukhrijul-mayyita mina-l-ḥayyi wa-tarzuqu mantashaa’ bighayri hisaabin.[5] Say, “Allah, the sovereign of all sovereignty... You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You abase whom You will. In Your hand is all good. Certainly, You are Qadir over all things. You turn the night into day and turn the day into night. You bring the living out of the dead and the dead out of the living. You give provision (life sustenance) to whom You will without account.” Some saints claim, “If one recites al-Fatiha, Ayat al-Qursi, and the 18th, 26th and 27th verses of Ali Imran after performing their five daily prayers they can be sure of the following five things: 1. Allah will not lead them astray from the straight path (the sirat al-mustaqeem) 2. They will be protected from all forms of accidents, afflictions and calamities. 3. They will not die without faith. 4. They will not be short of material or spiritual provisions 5. They will be reputable in the community in which they reside. [1] Quran 2:285-286. [2] Allama Alusi.
